24bit 44.1 kHz 0.1dB True Peak WAV
This is the Main Master of your song.
This Master is meant to be played back on systems that will not be adding additional Limiting or Compression to the signal.
It is made as loud as possible while still maintaining the full dynamic integrity of the music.
The peak loudness of this Master might be slightly different song by song depending on the content of the music in question.
This Master is intended to be the best and truest representation of the track.
We check this Master's suitability with YouTube, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music, TIDAL, Pandora, & Deezer in order to incur the least amount of Positive/Negative Gain from their various Streaming Algorithms. If we believe that a Streaming Specific Master file will result in a better representation of your music for listeners, then that additional Master will be provided Free-of-Charge (More Info Below).
Each Master Type takes time, effort and skill to prepare so I encourage my clients to read and understand what their options are and be prepared to pay a small fee for any additional Masters that they would like on top of the two that I provide with my flat rate.
STREAMING MASTER
24bit 44.1 kHz FLAC
Many times the "Main" Master will be perfectly suitable for streaming services, but occasionally we feel that songs need to be set to a different level or formatting in order to sound their best on the various streaming algorithms.
In those instances, a Streaming-Specific Master file will be provided that is typically not as loud as the "Main" Master, to ensure that if the signal gets turned up at any point in the listening chain the track will still maintain it’s sonic integrity.
CLUB MASTER
24bit 44.1 kHz -0.1dB True Peak WAV
This Master type is similar to the Main Master only the loudness is pushed to its absolute peak.
The dynamics of this file type will typically be smaller than the main master, as the track is being pushed to the brink of its loudness.
This file is intended for use in Club / Festival Sound Systems or in a Live Performance Context. A DJ would be playing this type of master, hence the popularization of the term “Club Edit” in the industry.
CD Master
16bit 44.1 kHz 320 kbps MP3
This Master type is similar to the Main Master type in that it is intended to be played on systems that won't be adding any additional compression or limiting to the signal.
The file is prepared slightly differently as the conversion from a lossless file to a lossy MP3 file for CD Codec changes the audio in a very minute way, therefore this Master is usually slightly quieter than the Main Master in order to account for that Codec.
This Master type is ready to be burned to CD.
BS.1770 MASTER
24bit 44.1 kHz -24dB LKFS (Loudness K-Weighted Relative to Full-Scale) WAV
This Master is formatted according to the current ITU BS.1770-4 Broadcast Standard Loudness Format (https://www.itu.int/dms_pubrec/itu-r/rec/bs/R-REC-BS.1770-4-201510-I!!PDF-E.pdf) and is safe for playback on any broadcast system that uses the BS.1770 Standard.
